Creating Smiles at Kid’s Day!

Over the past year, we’ve had the joy of creating and hosting our Gunning Dental Kid’s Days. These special events are designed to make dental visits fun and engaging for children while promoting good oral health. With our new facility, we can now offer a welcoming space where families can enjoy their check-ups alongside fun activities, both dental-related and otherwise.

Why We Do It

After the pandemic, many children fell out of the habit of visiting the dentist. This gap has made trips to the dentist even more intimidating for some kids. We’ve all heard horror stories from older generations about the ‘school dentist’ that created lifelong dental fears. Our goal? To prevent that from happening again. We want to reduce dental anxiety, encourage regular check-ups, and help kids grow into adults with great oral health habits.

Jodie our Childsmile Nurse

With the success of our initial Kid’s Days, our dental nurse, Jodie Cordley, completed her Child Smile qualification. Jodie now offers in-depth oral health education to families, both during Kid’s Days and at her own clinics throughout the year. By meeting Jodie in this relaxed environment, children feel more comfortable returning for their future visits.

Benefits for All Our Patients

By holding Kid’s Days at times when families have fewer commitments, we’ve been able to free up those highly-coveted after-school and after-work appointment slots. This means better availability for our patients all week long.

What’s Next?

The best part of Kid’s Day? It’s fun for everyone! Our team loves it, the kids love it, and parents leave feeling reassured that they’re supporting their children’s health. If you haven’t yet attended, we’d love to see you at our next Kid’s Day. Book now and let’s make dental visits a positive experience!
